Hi!
Been driving a Ford Taurus for the last few years and really want to get my hands on the BMW Z4 Coupe, but am procrastinating about the best time to buy.
Basically, I see it going two ways:
- I know that the '09 models will hit soon, giving me hope that some of the older models (talking '06 and '07) may depreciate more. Spring also brings greater sports car sales in the upper-midwest (think Milwaukee/Chicago area) which makes me think that the range of trade-in's that are up for sale may also improve after the new year.
- I know that the car market is in a bad state right now, and that end-of-the-year clearance may ramp up once we clear the October month. Am I a fool to wait till next year and see what happens?
I wouldn't want to miss out on dealers desperate to clear our inventory at the end of the year, but I also know that the car market is not coming back anytime in the next 6 months either and that if prices move anywhere, it's going to be downward.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
