I'm thinking about buying this 1988 BMW, It looks like a 528e from the picture on Craigslist when I compare other models from 1988. My question is does anyone have experience in BMW's from the 88' that are still going strong today? I asked the seller how is the condition, miles, transmission, tires, etc. I told him my situation, I'm looking for a a nice BMW that will withstand traveling all over the state of Florida. He said he would feel very comfortable taking it anywhere, for it has never failed him before. He has all the maintenance records and said he bought it from an old lady here in florida. This will be my first BMW, I am going to check it out tomorrow and hopefully test drive it.

Any BMW is expensive to maintain, and with that many miles on it, i can see something not going right on it, and when it breaks, it will cost more money to fix it, then the car is worth. I wouldn't buy it
