is the better car? Take into account refinement, economy, and perfomance.

i just asked my hubby as he sells BMWs. he says the 530d is better,more power etc. its a bit more expensive to buy but the difference in the fuel bill will compensate it. i have driven the 530d myself and i loved it !!!!!

If both cars have similar performance, go for the petrol... that way you wont kill any asthmatics or the planet.
