gauge went to red and started smoking? What's wrong with my car. It was totally fine until I came back from dinner and when I started the car it went to the red in the temperature gauge. Then, I could see smoke coming out of the hood. Today was a very hot day but the engine had time to cool off. Also, I didn't really even use the air conditioning much today. Also, when I got my last oil change only a week ago, I noticed when I refilled the gas tank, the car smelled like gasoline in the interior for a couple days. Could a line to the engine have been messed up? Also, i checked to see if there was water in the container under the hood and it was full.???
