the air in my car went out and i can't find my manual. i need to know how much oil and freon to put in it
i lost my manual and have no idea how much of each i need.
ok first of all a dealer won't tell you anything, i didn't get it from a dealer, second of all my town doesn't have a library.
i would use 134a, the stuff you can get at a parts store

has this car been converted to use r-134? your car is old enough to have come from bmw with r-12 in it. next, why did it lose it's charge? have you fixed the leak? to properly charge the system, you have to evacuate the system by pulling a vacuum, then add oil and the proper type of freon for your cars system. if you get or have any moisture in the system, the moisture will ruin it. i'd suggest that you have this done at an automotive a/c shop if you don't like going to the dealer, freon can be pretty dangerous stuff. if you get it in your eyes, or on your skin you'll be in rough shape, and any medical bills will be more than what you'd spend at a shop. good luck.
