I'm looking to buy a new car- 2007 model. I keep hearing how the Audi quattro will outperform a BMW in the snow, which isn't surprising considering the quattro's a 4 wheel drive and the BMW is a rear wheel drive. But what about comparing the quattro to a 4 wheel drive BMW (the "ix" series)? Which one would you rather have and why?

Audi has a longer history of building AWD vehicles than BMW, and a longer and more successful race history with the same. But, I still like the BMW AWD if the dollars are equal, but that usually is not the case, so check the service costs and insurance before deciding.

bmw a little pricier but retains value a little better. as far as the 4 wheel drive, both systems will work fine- so it's essentially a wash. go with whichever one you like the most- they're both good cars.

audi has a very proven awd system, yet audis are also a lot less reliable than bmw's. also they cant hold there value near as well as a bmw...

if your not going to be doing any "severe snow" driving get the bmw

you'll be happier
