how do you open the x5 interior ski shoot...i can get the piece opened from the back seat, but the cloth covering the trunk area doesn't seem to move

Refer to your owners manual. It details if very well.

I own a x5 and all you need to do is go in through the backseat, pull down the seat divider and pull down the leather flap which is velcro, press the release button, then you should be able to push open.

When all else fails, read your manual!
